About the brand

ABOUT THE BRAND About icebreaker Inspired by nature, icebreaker harnesses the performance qualities of natural fibers to make simple, beautiful, high-quality clothing.

Merino naturally resists odors, keeps you cool when it's hot and warm when it's not, and lets your skin breathe for comfort all day, every day. Annually renewable, merino fiber offers an alternative to synthetic clothing based on petrochemicals.

Founded in New Zealand in 1995 by Jeremy Moon, icebreaker pioneered the ethical and sustainable production of natural performance apparel. For 25 years, icebreaker has challenged the status quo in an industry dominated by synthetics. icebreaker believes that nature has the answers and aims to inspire and enable people to choose natural for their everyday lives.

Following the publication of its Transparency Report in 2018 and 2019, icebreaker was one of only a handful of brands to be awarded an A+ rating in the Tearfund Ethical Fashion report, two years in a row. The report found icebreaker to be excellent in every area, including scrutiny of policy, traceability, transparency, supplier relationships and worker rights at every stage of the production process.
